Yesterday the Cardinals played their second playoff game against the Cubs. It was a great game fueled by the bitter taste of a loss of the first playoff game. From now on it is single elimination. Next game is Saturday.

In their first playoff game of the post-season, the Cardinals ended with a loss by one point. The Dodgers played a great game and managed to pull-off a win. It was a very close game and we all proud of the effort the Cardinals put forth.

Next game is Thursday against the Cubs.

The Cardinals had a fantastic game today, beating the Cubs to become undefeated for the regular season. Sweet.

The playoffs start next Tuesday with the Cardinals playing the winners of the Padres/Sox game.

Way to go Cardinals!

In the third inning, the Cardinals vs. the Yankees game was postponed due our first real summer thunderstorm that swept across the state. Suspending the game with Cardinals 1, Yankees 0, the game will pick up where the left off when the meet again.

The storm lasted all of 20 minutes.

It was an exciting finish to what was looking to be a discouraging game. This was the first meeting for the regular season with the Marlins and it looked like a repeat performance.

I missed the first part of the game but heard it was not going well. When I arrived they were in the bottom of the fourth and down by two. Top of the fifth, something happened. They got it together and and started hitting and running bases.

Now the are ahead by one.

Nail-biter. Mission is to not let them score. Mainly to win the game. Secondly, it is drizzling out and we want to get home.

The defense stepped up as well and managed to hold them. Yea :-)

Yesterday, the mayor talked to Conner. It seems the letter he wrote to the Park District asking that scooters (like a skate board with a handle) be allowed at the skate park. Currently they are banned. After lengthy discussions with the Mayor, the issue will be reviewed at the next city meeting and is tentatively up for approval.

In their second game of the regular season, the have really come together as a team. Playing their most exciting game to date, they won over the Dodgers by 2 runs.

They are currently 2-0 for the regular season.

Their next 3 games are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Even though they came away with a loss, this was by far the best game played to-date. The practice on Saturday was event with everyone playing better together as a team and hitting the ball more consistently. Photos are here.

The Cardinals had a great game last night. Maybe the weather had something to do wit it. 80°F. Perfect. Although they were defeated by 2 runs, the game play was above par for the majority of the game. With another game on Thursday, practice on Saturday and yet another game on Sunday, the team will be melding together.

With some batting practice, Conner should be back to his usual consistent batting.
