Austin is on the road.

Yep. As of the 31st of May, Austin has his driver's license. For those of you not living in Illinois, you can rest easy. LOL

All kidding aside, he does a good job of driving.

Congrats Austin and drive safe.

Conner Has First Game Over the Weekend

Conner Basketball 2006

They did a good job, winning their first game Saturday. They actually played like a team. Credit goes to all the players and coaches since they have had maybe four practices. The rest of the season is all games. Some pictures are posted.

Austin is Able to Start Season

Austin received good news on Friday concern his leg and wrestling. Although his couch will not be entirely happy, Austin will be allowed to practice and condition with the wrestling team starting on Monday.

Austin will be able to condition and do drills but will not be able to actually wrestle for another 6 weeks. Austin is extremely happy with being able to start the season along with the rest of his teammates and should be able to compete in mid-season.

Austin's ortho is very happy with the way his leg is mending and is amazed at how quickly it is repairing, progressing at double the rate he thought it would heel. How great it is to be young and healthy.

Garage Band - Literally

On Saturday night the boys and I went to a neighborhood party where a couple of local bands played in a garage for a little Halloween party. Austin's friends who have the local bike ramps in their backyard also have a punk band of sorts called "Freddy Throws a Fit." I think FTAF is a brilliant name for a young band. It was everything a young punk band should be loud and full of attitude. Conner spent the time watching the drummer seeing what he was doing.

Thanks for the show Bob.

Cast Off

On Friday Austin had his cast removed. Still very vulnerable, he is wearing an ankle brace that prevents side motion but it makes walking much easier.

The down-side is he will be unable to participate in wrestling this year (it is not healed enough to withstand the side forces). He is planning on conditioning with the team and supporting their efforts.

Austin's Broken Tibia

Austin acquired this doing one of his bike tricks. He says it hurts. I am sure he will milk-it for all it's worth at school next week ;-).

Cardinals End Post Season Play

Monday night the Cardinals played the Red Sox in what I hear was a very high-scoring, action-packed game. Although they lost the game and ended their season, they played a terrific season. They should all be proud of their accomplishments.

We look forward to next season.
